मुख्य रूप से जड़ों द्वारा अवशोषित किया जाने वाला चयनात्मक अंतरप्रवाही खरपतवारना है साथ ही यह कोशिकाओं द्वारा पतियों में भी प्रवाहित होता है। यह खरपतवारों के प्रकाश संश्लेषण को रोकता है। यह घास एवं चोड़ी पत्ती वाले खरपतवारों दोनों पर कार्य करता है। यह प्रभावी रूप से फालारिस माइनर को भी नियंत्रित करता है, जिसमें अन्य स्वरपतवारनाशकों के प्रति प्रतिरोधक क्षमता विकसित कर ली है। यह जड़ों एवं पत्तियों के माध्यम से कार्य करता है, इसलिए इसे खरपतवार उगने से पूर्व एवं उगने के बाद भी उपयोग किया जा सकता है। यह बहुआयामी गतिविधि एवं कम मात्रा के कारण किफायती है। बाद वाली फसलों पर कोई अवशिष्ट प्रभाव नहीं छोड़ता।
